Deep North siteNorth Memorial Place
15 per world · 19 moulds at 5% · 21 itemsThis is the single most valuable stop in 1.0, and it is a surface site rather than a dungeon. The buried chest at each memorial draws exactly 1 time from a table of 20 entries at 5 percent each, and 19 of those entries are weapon and armour moulds. Every other entry is a
Silver Necklace. So one chest is one item, and 95 percent of the time that item is a mould you cannot craft without.
The other half of the site is the guard. Up to three
Fallen Warriors stand at each memorial, and they are the only creature in the game that drops
Frostfire Essence or
Thunderblood Essence, at a 50 percent roll for each, independently, on every kill. Those two essences are what turn a Nord weapon into its final version, so all 24 Frostfire and Thunderblood weapons run through this one site.
A world places 15 of them with 400 metres between any two, the widest spacing of any Deep North location, and they do not show on the map. With one chest roll each, clearing all 15 is worth about 15 rolls on that table, so a full mould set means visiting most of the north.
Fallen Warriors are undead and resist blunt, slash, pierce and fire, so every physical weapon you own lands at reduced value here. They are weak to spirit, which means the eitr staffs most players shelve after the Mistlands are the right tool for the one farm that matters most.
The moulds are the whole point of the table. A mould is consumed casting the weapon, and casting is the only route to the Nord tier, so a run of bad chests is what actually gates the endgame rather than any material. The
Mould: Spirit Caller and the three other staff moulds sit on this table too, at the same 5 percent, which makes this the only place the magic line comes from.
Moulds also drop in the Winding Tunnels and off the weapon stands in Mörkhalla, but nowhere else drops the essences, and nowhere else puts them a percentage point apart. The North Village is the other surface site worth clearing. The full biome list is on the Deep North page.
