Valheim update history

Valheim left early access with its final biome, same-day PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 releases, and full crossplay across all platforms. The update is free for existing owners; the base price is now $29.99.

Patch 0.219.13 added a new trader hidden in the Swamp who sells potion ingredients, plus feasts, new potions, and a homesteading push. Three new skills arrived with it: Cooking, Farming, and Crafting.

Patch 0.218.15 opened the volcanic endgame biome across the southern ocean, with the Charred legions, siege warfare, and over 30 new weapons. Fader closes the biome as its boss.

Patch 0.217.14 added Hildir, a second trader you rescue from a dungeon, along with three themed mini-boss dungeons and a cosmetic push. The same patch introduced world modifiers.

Valheim launched on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, completing crossplay between console and PC. Crossplay infrastructure had arrived earlier, with the Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass release in September 2022.

The Mistlands update added a fog-drowned biome of Dvergr ruins and giant skeletons, plus the game's magic system. The Queen waits at the end of it as the sixth boss.

Patch 0.207.20 hollowed out the Mountains with hidden caves full of Ulv, cultists, and bats. The Fenris armor set came out of it, the game's first speed-focused light armor.

The first major update reworked food into a health-or-stamina choice and shipped a large building expansion. Combat changed with it: blocking got tied to max health and shields were rebalanced.
