Abomination

Undead
What to know

Abomination has 800 health and spawns in the swamps.

It takes extra damage from fire; it resists blunt and pierce; frost, poison and spirit do nothing to it at all. Slash lands at full damage, so that is what to bring.

Its hardest hit does 80 blunt, out of 3 attacks.

Of everything craftable, Lightning Strike, Thunderblood Greatsword and Thunderblood Greataxe put the most damage through what it resists.

It always drops Root and Guck.

About

Abomination is an undead creature found in the Swamp. It has 800 health, is very resistant to pierce and resistant to blunt, immune to frost, poison and spirit damage, and weak to fire, which leaves slash as the dependable physical option. All three of its attacks deal blunt damage: an 11 meter branch sweep for 60 on a 7 second cooldown, an overhead pound for 80 in a 4.3 meter radius every 8 seconds, and a body slam for 80 in a 5.4 meter radius every 6 seconds, and each one also chops and mines through anything built nearby. The sweep needs 2.5 meters of space and the pound needs 3, so standing against its center disables both. It always drops 5 Root and 3 to 5 Guck, with a 50% chance of an Abomination Trophy.

Fighting it

Fire is the cheat code: they take double damage and the swamp rain will not save them from fire arrows. Slash also works fast if you would rather chop the thing down like the tree it pretends to be. Their roots craft the root armor set, which is worth every awkward fight.

Spawning
WhereRollGroupConditions
Swamp15% every 4000 s, max 1 near you1altitude -2 to 5 m

Each 64 m zone keeps its own timer per entry and rolls the chance once per interval while loaded; a zone never loaded before rolls the moment you arrive. The spawn lands 40 to 80 m from a player, never inside a base unless noted, and "max near you" counts the loaded area around that zone. Dungeon and camp spawners are separate and not counted here.

Spawn command

With devcommands enabled, this spawns Abomination in front of you. The third number is the level: 3 spawns a 2-star.
