How food wears off

A food doesn't fall off in a straight line. Its health, stamina and eitr follow the time it has left raised to the power 0.3, so a meal keeps most of its value for most of its life and drops hard at the very end: at half time it still gives 81%, at a quarter 66%, and in its last minute well under half.

The game lets you eat the same food again once less than half its time is left, which resets it. Topping up at that point keeps every bar between 81% and full for the whole session, at twice the food cost of letting each one run out. Regen doesn't decay at all: every 10 seconds you heal the full regen value of each food you have, whatever its timer says.

The planner counts a food as belonging to the biome its hardest ingredient or station comes from, so filtering to the Swamp leaves out anything that needs a Mountain onion. Every food's numbers are on the food list, and the best food guide ranks them by biome.
