Elaking is a Deep North creature that roams the surface at night and fills the Winding Tunnels below it, where the spawn areas allow up to 45 at once across five rooms. It has 350 health, takes extra damage from fire, resists frost and ignores spirit, so fire is the answer and frost weapons are the worst thing to bring. It claws for 100 slash and 40 blunt, and its jump attack lands 75 blunt and 30 slash. Every kill gives 1 to 2 Elaking Hair Bundle, with the 
Elaking Trophy at 10% and a 
Mould: Intricate Key at 20%.
Fight them in a doorway or a corridor mouth, never in the open, because the claw is 100 slash and forty of those add up quickly. Fire is the weakness and area damage is the shape of the answer. Each kill gives 1 to 2 Elaking Hair Bundle, which is what the Chestpiece and Trousers of the Vanguard are made of, and one in five carries a Mould: Intricate Key.
