It takes extra damage from fire; it resists blunt, slash and frost; spirit does nothing to it at all. Pierce lands at full damage, so that is what to bring.

Of everything craftable, Thunderblood Crossbow, Lightning Strike and Frostfire Crossbow put the most damage through what it resists.

It always drops Lox Meat.

Lox Calf is the offspring of a bred pair of tame lox, with 100 health against the adult's 1,000 and no attack of its own. It keeps the adult damage table, resistant to blunt, slash and frost, immune to spirit and weak to fire, and it runs at 6 rather than 7. Killing one drops a single Lox Meat and no pelt or trophy, so there is nothing to gain from culling a herd's young.
