Silver Ore

Unrefined silver. Needs to be refined in a smelter.

Silver Ore is a mining material cut from silver veins and silver deposits, which only generate in the Mountains above 120 metres and need an Iron Pickaxe or better to break. A smelter refines it into Silver. Most veins are buried: the Wishbone points to them directly, and hitting the ground with a Stagbreaker or Iron Sledge returns a "too hard" message when a vein sits inside the swing, which also makes trenching a reliable way to turn them up. Frozen ground digs no slower than any other, so the search is a matter of covering the ridge. The ore cannot pass through a portal, and at 14 weight a piece in stacks of 30 it comes home by cart or boat.
