Nidhögg the Thundering is a one-handed sword made at the Black Forge by fitting an Iolite to a Nidhögg and alongside 6 Flametal. It deals 135 slash plus 10 lightning, blocks for 57 and has 300 durability, and every hit carries a 25% chance of triggering chain lightning. The primary is a three-swing chain with double damage on the last hit at 16 stamina a swing; the secondary is a lunging thrust for triple damage at 28. Only the slash scales on upgrade, at 6 a level to 153 at quality 4, and the conversion resets the sword to quality 1.

Each quality level adds 6 damage and 50 durability. Quality 2 costs the per-level amount, quality 3 twice that and quality 4 four times, so the last level is more than half of the total.
