Shield of Roots
Malleable roots have been twisted into a surprisingly sturdy shield.
Shield of Roots is a round shield crafted at a level 2 Workbench from 10 
Finewood and one 
Writhan Roots. It blocks for 48 on 200 durability, trains Blocking and carries no movement penalty. Upgrades run to quality 3, at 5 finewood and 2 roots for the second level and 10 and 4 for the third, so a maxed shield has cost 25 finewood and 7 roots and blocks for 60.
Past quality 3, the Forge of Potential will take it one level further for 1 Iron Protection Idol plus 20 Finewood and 8 Writhan Roots. No other station asks for the idol.

Each quality level adds 6 block and 50 durability. Quality 2 costs the per-level amount and quality 3 twice that.
