Iron

A bar of pure iron ready to be worked.

Iron is a bar smelted from Scrap Iron or Iron Ore in a Smelter, 30 seconds a bar. It weighs 12, stacks to 30 and cannot be carried through a portal. Finished bars also turn up in the pots of Ashlands charred ruins and behind the wooden gates of mountain caves. It is the backbone of mid-game gear: the Iron Mace takes 20 bars plus 10 per upgrade level, and the Porcupine another 20.
